In this newsletter, learn about upcoming events, helpful resources and ways to strengthen your prayer life.

We are entering a busy season for the GOHOP community! We have so many good things to invite you to! We have already shared details about many of these events, so we will just provide a brief summary here.

• Saturday, May 24: Regional Gathering of 24-7 Prayer Canada. Join with friends from a variety of 24-7 Prayer Communities across Ontario for worship, celebration, teaching and fellowship. GOHOP will host morning prayer before the event and have an open house after the event. Click here for more information and to register.

• Thursday, June 5: GOHOP Pancake Supper Fundraiser. Come and enjoy a delicious meal, learn about how God is blessing many through GOHOP’s ministry and contribute to the kingdom work that we do. There is no fee to attend, but we ask that you let us know you are coming so we can prepare well. Click here for more information and to register.

• Friday, July 11 to Friday, July 18: GOHOP Prayer Truck at the Living Rock. We are thrilled to be taking prayer to the streets this summer! Once again, we have the awesome privilege to pray with people, encourage them and bless them. Stay tuned for more information!

Please join any of our weekly or monthly prayer events. We have a variety of ways to engage in prayer, explore new approaches to pray and learn to pray with others. Try something familiar or something new.

The Vision is Jesus

At a recent GOHOP Staff and Companion retreat, we listened to the Vision poem as part of our learning together. It is a powerful explanation of why we do what we do and gives insight into the history of the 24-7 Prayer network.

Here are a few lines:

So this guy comes up to me and says, “What’s the vision? What’s the big idea?”

I open my mouth and words come out like this…

The Vision?

The vision is JESUS – obsessively, dangerously, undeniably Jesus.
The vision is an army of young people.
You see bones? I see an army. …

What is the vision?

The vision is holiness that hurts the eyes. It makes children laugh and adults angry. It gave up the game of minimum integrity long ago to reach for the stars. It scorns the good and strains for the best. It is dangerously pure.

I encourage you to listen to the video and reflect on the words. I am sure you will be inspired, challenged and encouraged!

Renovations in the Prayer Room

If you have been to the Prayer Room recently, you will have noticed that we are doing some renovations. We are grateful to Rob Noftle for framing, insulating for sound and drywalling the doors between the prayer room and the new office space in the sanctuary. This goes a long way to limit sound travelling between the spaces and gives us more flexibility for arranging furniture and setting up prayer stations.
