One of the beautiful things about prayer is … you can do it anywhere and anytime! You can pray alone or in a group. On a mountaintop or in the city core. You can pray in quiet moments or in the chaos of every day life. What a privilege to step into the presence of God at any moment and always receive a warm welcome and friendly smile from our good Father who loves us perfectly! He is never tired. He is never grumpy. We never have to try to catch Him in a good mood or wait until He’s had His coffee. He is always approachable. He is always accessible. He is always happy to see you. Wow. What an awesome invitation!

Prayer on an App

If you are one of 30,000 Canadians who use the prayer app Lectio 365, you will have heard a familiar voice this week! Aisha Sharifa, National Coordinator of 24-7 Prayer Canada, is leading us in prayer, reflecting on the work of the Spirit in the life of God’s people. Aisha has been connected with the GOHOP community for a long time, all the way back to her days at the Toronto House of Prayer and also the years she served as a board member here. Prayer in an Alley

Last year at the Prayer Truck, we prayed for dozens of people. We lost count at about 84. It is such a privilege when someone shares their story with us and a profound honour to bring them to Jesus in prayer. Here are the kinds of things that people asked us to pray for last year:

• friends who are victims of violence

• a closer walk with God

• improved mental and physical health

• better housing

• freedom from bondage

• disappointment with God

• safety for family members overseas

• stronger relationships with family

• employment and education opportunities

• family members who are struggling

• regaining custody of children

• better sleep

• loved ones with cancer

• help returning to God

• good friends to encourage

• being reunited with children overseas

• safe travels

• deeper community

• wisdom, insight and discernment

• a safe place to stay for a few nights

• …

• Start: 4 pm on Friday, June 12

• End: at 8 pm on Friday, June 19

• Weekdays: 8 am to 8 pm

• Weekends: 1 pm to 8 pm

• Location: At the Living Rock (30 Wilson St)

• Gatherings: We will have a simple meal (hotdogs, veggies, chips and drinks) with music on each Friday evening -June 12 and 19)

Pancake Supper Update

We raised $7,945 at the Pancake Supper Fundraiser. Our goal is $8,000. We are so grateful to each one who helped make the evening a success. Thank you!
