We kick-started our new season of ministry with energy and enthusiasm participating in the Global Week of Prayer last week! Scroll down to hear how it went.

We are back to our regular rhythms in the prayer room! Our drop-in hours will be from 8 am to 8 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays again this year. Weekly and monthly prayer gatherings are ramping up again. Read on to find a prayer time that will encourage and bless you.

We are very excited about our upcoming anniversary: Celebrating 25 Years of Prayer, Justice and Mission in Hamilton - Beginning, Building, Becoming. On Saturday, October 17, we will be gathering to thank God for His faithfulness to GOHOP over the years and anticipate His generous provision in the future. Jill Weber, GOHOP’s founder, will be joining us!

Different events have been planned:

• Prayer Room Open - 12-5 pm - 1907 King St E

• Spaghetti Supper - 5:30-6:30 pm - 155 Gage Ave N

• Celebration - 7-9 pm - 155 Gage Ave N

Global Week of Prayer 2026

We were one of 2,728 prayer rooms in 141 countries that devoted September 6 to 13 to declare the name of Jesus in prayer.

At GOHOP, we prayed online at 6 am, noon, 6 pm and midnight each day. Sometimes we were as many as 12 praying together. Other times we were two or three. But, each time, we prayed that God’s kingdom would come and His will would be done in Hamilton, Canada and the world as it is in heaven.

We prayed that Jesus would reveal Himself as His names describe Him. Please join us as we continue to pray the names of Jesus over our families, our communities, our churches, our nation and the world as it is in heaven.

• The Alpha and Omega — Celebrating Jesus as the beginning and the end, the eternal and almighty Creator. Praying for unity in the church.

• The Good Shepherd — Reflecting on Jesus’ loving care, guidance, and protection for His flock. Praying for displaced people and refugees.

• The Prince of Peace — Focusing on the tranquillity, reconciliation, and hope that Jesus offers the world. Praying for regions experiencing war, civil unrest, and violence.

• The Way, the Truth, and the Life — Exploring Jesus as the true path, ultimate reality, and source of eternal life. Praying for unreached people groups.

• The Great High Priest — Honouring Jesus as our mediator, who understands our weaknesses and intercedes for us. Praying for the persecuted Church.

• The Lion of the Tribe of Judah — Remembering Jesus’s ultimate authority, strength, and triumph. Praying for justice and against exploitation.

• Immanuel God with Us — Celebrating the profound truth of God coming down to dwell intimately among His people. Praying for the lonely and marginalized in the world.

• King of Kings and Lord of Lords — Proclaiming Jesus’s supreme sovereignty, ultimate victory, and reign over all creation. Praying for world leaders and global revival.

The Prayer Room is Open!

We are very excited to be back to our regular rhythms in the prayer room. We are open for drop-in hours from 8 am to 8 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Join us for a few minutes or a few hours whenever you are free. Come alone or with a friend.
