If you have been around GOHOP for a while, you will know that spring is a busy and exciting season for us! We are excited about the events that are coming up quickly.

• Some are events that we have hosted for many years, like Prayer Truck.

• Some events are somewhat new, like the Pancake Supper Fundraiser, our second annual.

• Some are brand new like CrossWalk, the pilgrimage fundraiser starting on Thursday this week.

We don’t want you to feel overwhelmed as you think about all the opportunities that God is giving us, so we simply invite you to engage in a way that brings life and inspires hope!

You may be wondering why we have two fundraising events back-to-back: the CrossWalk Pilgrimage on four Thursdays in April and the The Pancake Supper on May 7. Let me explain.

• CrossWalk is for my personal support in my new role as director of GOHOP. These funds will allow me to invest more time, and focus more fully on the ministry.

• The Pancake Supper strengthens GOHOP’s General Fund and allows us to continue to do the work that we do in Hamilton.

These are two different fundraisers that will appeal to different people within the GOHOP community. Each has a different goal and purpose. Please participate in one or both or neither, as you feel called and capable.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity and support of our community. We are blessed and encouraged and we look forward to fostering prayer, pursuing justice and engaging mission with you through these events as well as others!

CrossWalk Pilgrimage Fundraiser

DAY ONE of the our prayer walk across Hamilton is this week: Thursday, April 2. Here are the details.

• Start Point: Confederation Park Ball Hockey rinks. Click here for location.

• Meeting Time: 8:30 am for prayer and worship

• Walking Start Time: 9:00 am

• End Point: Victoria Park. Click here for location.

• Distance: 13 km

• Walking Time: About 3 hours (not including breaks)

• End Time: 12:30 - 1 pm

There are lots of ways to be involved:

• Pray for safety and success.

• Walk with us.

• Join us for prayer at the beginning of the day.

• Drive walkers from the end point back to their cars at the start point.

• Be available to help walkers who need assistance.

• Meet us for prayer at the end of the walk.

Pancake Supper Fundraiser - May 7

This, our second annual Pancake Supper Fundraiser, will be a fun evening of food, friendship and fellowship. Last year was a blast and this year will be just as good. The evening includes a silent auction, a live auction, worship, prayer and a great meal. It is an informal event, so feel free to invite friends and family members. Here are the details.

• Date: Thursday, May 7

• Time: 5:30 to 8:30 pm

• Location: Bethany Gospel Chapel - 155 Gave Ave N

• Parking: Available in a small lot behind the chapel or on the street

• Cost: Free! Please register so we know how many pancakes to make.

There are many ways to participate:

• Come with friends and family and enjoy a fun meal.

• Encourage your church family, bible study friends or small group members to come with you.

• Contribute a gift basket or other item for the silent or live auctions.

• Help set up the room before the event or take it down after.

• Sponsor the event.

• Donate to help us reach our goal of $8,000. We have set up a CanadaHelps campaign page to facilitate online giving for this event.
