While I was there, a young man approached me. He works in their weekend program and is an important part of the Living Rock team. He asked if I was from GOHOP. When I said that I was, he was excited to share his story with me. Last year, he was struggling with pain in his leg. He was scheduled for surgery to resolve the issue. He went to the Prayer Truck where people prayed for him. They prayed a prayer of blessing and healing. And he was healed! He was so happy to tell me that he never needed the surgery and a year later he is still strong and continues to be grateful for the way he encountered God at the Prayer Truck.

This is not a unique story. Many people meet Jesus in a new way as we pray for them in an alley in downtown Hamilton. Some people experience healing. Some put their faith in Jesus. Some are given wisdom, guidance. and encouragement. Some find deep peace. Some are simply blessed by a welcoming community and a listening ear. In any case, it is a joy and a privilege to see God at work in the urban core of our city. To think that He loves to include us in His life-changing work is remarkable!

Please join us as we kick off our week of street-level prayer from 4 pm to 8 pm tomorrow with a bbq at 6 pm. A number of talented musicians from the TrueCity Collective will be filling the neighbourhood with music and leading us in worship. It is a celebration that will remind you that God is good and He is active in our city.
