In an initiative to bring Catholics and Protestants together to pray for the homeless in Hamilton, GOHOP partners with St. Patrick Catholic church for a 14-day prayer vigil. We pray on a bench just outside of St. Patrick’s Church. This bench features a bronze sculpture of a homeless man who is covered by a blanket. Only the feet are exposed. And those nail-pierced feet reveal the special identity of the homeless Man. There is only enough space on the bench for a person to sit – by the feet. This statue has been installed in many locations all around the world - read more here.
This year (2019) the vigil will take place May 3-16 from 7am-7pm each day.
