Prayer for reconciliation

We had an powerful time of listening, learning, unity and prayer at our Prayer for Reconciliation gathering on Tuesday, September 30. About twenty of us met to hear moving stories from indigenous friends. Wanita Hill-Sault is co-pastor of the Six Nations Pentecostal Church and lives on the reserve. Chris Hill is part of Bethany Chapel and lives in Hamilton with his wife and young son. We are so grateful that they took the time to share their stories with us. We were moved, challenged and encouraged by their words.

We were reminded that the core of the good news is that we are joyfully reconciled to God through Jesus and He calls us to continue His ongoing ministry of reconciliation.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17-19
